1. Agreement to Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Search with SearXNG (including the macOS application and browser extensions for Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not install or use the software.
2. License Grant
Search with SearXNG is proprietary, closed-source client software developed by Ömercan Kömür. You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the software on compatible devices for personal or commercial productivity purposes.
You agree not to reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or circumvent security mechanisms in the software, except to the extent permitted by applicable law.
3. Relationship to the SearXNG Project & Attribution
SearXNG is a free, decentralized, open-source metasearch engine developed by the community under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 (github.com/searxng/searxng).
Search with SearXNG is an independent client software. It is not affiliated with, maintained by, sponsored by, or officially endorsed by the SearXNG open-source project or its contributors. Search with SearXNG serves as a user interface and utility layer connecting to publicly available or privately hosted SearXNG HTTP/HTTPS endpoints.
4. Third-Party Search Instances and Content
Search with SearXNG communicates with third-party public or self-hosted SearXNG nodes. We do not own, control, or monitor third-party SearXNG instances or the search results returned by external search engines (such as Google, Bing, Wikipedia, etc.).
- We do not guarantee the availability, uptime, speed, or accuracy of any third-party SearXNG instance.
- You are responsible for choosing and verifying the privacy policies and reliability of any instance you configure within the application.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NONINFRINGEMENT. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE AUTHOR BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES, OR OTHER LIABILITY ARISING FROM THE USE OF THE SOFTWARE.
